Isn’t it wonderful how the waters wave to say hello? And how the daylight slowly creeps in to unfold a glorious sunrise?
So many of the beautiful things in life are right outside your door. :)

Canigao Island

Destination: Paradise Island <3

To that pretty little island! From afar you can already see the pearly white sands and glistening calm waters! Cooooool :)

Closer view

Almost to the island! :) You can see some of the cottages already which is a big improvement since the last time we’ve been there. Me and my family had been in Canigao three times already. The first was I think back in 2005 and then in 2010 and now. It was only an island before with less civilization but still really beautiful. We used to just sit in the sand and bring picnic baskets but now it’s progressing quite well.

The Beach!

So you might be wondering why we’ve been there three times already aside from the fact that it is so sublime and considering that it is located far from Cebu (almost 6 hours of boat trip + 1 hour bus trip). Well the answer is simple, we have tons of relatives there (from my lolo’s side)! And that’s why every fiesta they invite us to go there to meet and greet a lot of our long lost relatives and of course, go to the beach! :)

Welcome to Canigao Island!

*My vain Dad and his essential solo picture! LOL

Actually, the whole island is surrounded with white sands and you can circumnavigate it in less than an hour! It’s really just a small island. The journey is equally as awesome as the destination itself. You get to see different scenic views around. The farther you are from the “main area”, the better the island becomes. There are less people which means you are closer to nature and you can appreciate God’s creation even more!

Like that area where my dad is standing, (my tita said it’s called a shoal) you get the feel that you’re in a place away from all the evil the world has. It’s ethereal. :)

My cousins + mom taking a dip. Getting the in-a-private-island-resort-feel since we’re all alone.

fisherman’s boat spotted near the shoal with the breathtaking view of the mountains and sea as its background.

And that ends our adventure in Canigao Island! Go out and make your own adventure as well. I just love the beach! (:

Yay for another post in the travels section in my blog! heee.

*BTW Sorry for the lame photos was too busy/lazy editing any of it. All photos are unaltered. :)

To the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. :)

They say if you count the exact steps towards the grotto, you’re wish would be granted. Unfortunately I failed to do so because of..you guessed it..laziness! haha

Mine’s View

I love this place! Here you can buy pasalubong, etc with more variety and at low prices! Too bad we came here last. I already bought more than half of the pasalubong at La Trinidad, Benguet (where the strawberry farm is located) and everything there is more expensive. Really.

There’s so much more to do here like be photographed with a cutie St. Bernard(which we didn’t do coz it was, in our opinion, overpriced! haha! at least we got a look at it.) rent tribal costumes from the indigenous people of Baguio, (we also didn’t do coz we were running out of time. sucks!) ride a pink pony (would you be surprised if I say we didn’t do it also? LOL) buy lotsa cardigans, sweaters, beret, bags etc at low low prices! (this I bought!) bring home strawberry jam, crinkles, peanut brittle, etc (I love strawberry jam!!)

Burnham Park

Unfortunately, I didn’t take much photos here due to lack of time. I hope my friends don’t mind me posting their photos in my blog. :D

Skating and biking!! From the photos above, you wouldn’t tell that I completely suck at skating! I was holding the bars the whole time. And I even fell upon finishing my 1st and only round at the rink. LOL

I just love Baguio! The weather, food (strawberry taho and ice cream..and jam!), the beautiful scenery and good company make a trip to Baguio worthwhile! Definitely going back! :)

*Special thanks to my photographer classmates for some of the photos in this blog. Kaye Clarete, Do Did Amora, Joie Lauron and Neil Angelo Briones. Continue to be awesome guys! :)

underground river experience

Hello! :) If you remember, I was supposed to blog about this a million years ago but I was too lazy to. Typical me. So anyway, here are some of the snapshots from our trip to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) or formerly known as St. Paul Subterranean River. :)

The view of the lush greenery surrounding the road to the Underground River.

Here’s us chilling at one of the pit stops. :)

Along the way, we saw this very beautiful rock formation. It reminded me of The Lord of the Rings for some reason. heee.

i love this picture! planned but candid looking!

After a two-hour dizzy ride (zigzag road), we finally arrived at Sabang Beach! It’s a quaint place where all you hear are the strong waves and loud sound of the wind. It doesn’t look as inviting as Honda Bay because it’s facing South China Sea. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but when you look at the horizon, it’s as if it’s so far away. And in a way, I don’t like that. It’s like everything is not within my reach. Distance is really hard to deal with.

After eating lunch @ Sabang Beach, we headed off to the port for a 15-minute boat ride to the Underground River. It was a bumpy ride but the view was breathtaking!

One of the rock formations we saw during the boat ride.

And we finally arrived! :))

Riding a paddle boat to the cave! Very scared to fall off the boat!

To the cave!

Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus. :)

some photos inside the cave.

there were so many bats inside! The guide warned us to close our mouth at all times coz we might get a taste of bat poop. LOL

It has been one of the happiest and most interesting travels I’ve had with the family. :) I’m glad to see God’s wonderful work of art together with the people that matter most to me. Truly deserving to be part of the 7 wonders of the world. :))

Some of the “vain” shots of me on Pandan Island. :D

island hopping

Hello Tumblr world! :)

I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I’ve been so lazy lately, not the usual laziness but it’s a more complex and difficult one. I dunno why. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get up early (like 7am). I know I sound so negative but I’m really trying to avoid this bad habit. I got so many things piled up already. And with the month of May fast approaching, there is not enough time to do all these amazing stuff.

Anyways, As you’ve known, me and my family went on a adventure to the beautiful island of Palawan. Remember my last post

We went island hopping at Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa. If I’m not mistaken it consists of five different and equally stunning islands. Some of the islands I remember were Pandan (this is where my photos are taken), Starfish, Pambato Reef, Luli and some other islands i forgot.

mom and dad

*my tita cecil was also with us but i chose not to put her photo coz it’s too revealing hehe

We spent our day mostly at Pandan Island. It is this magnificent island surrounded with pearly white sand and clear blue waters. Here you can do fish feeding and snorkeling. Me and Vera enjoyed the snorkeling the most because it was our first time and there are thousands of fishes and corals and just sea creatures bursting with life and color. The water is cool and clear and you wouldn’t if mind if you’re going too deep because you feel safe with all the fishes. Oh don’t be scared, there’s a trained diver that will take care of you while you watch the beautiful scenery under water. What’s more cool about these fishes is when you feed them, all of them come swimming towards you and the next thing you know is that you’re surrounded by hundreds, even thousands of them. And that’s what makes this whole experience unlike any other island I’ve been to so far.

*we caught a starfish! but we immediately returned it to the water after taking pictures

don’t mind the dude, just focus on the background ;)

I wish I had waterproof camera or just the case to take photos of the lovely scene underwater. urghh I am so going back! But I hope the next time I go to Palawan, I get to go to El Nido because I heard it’s also a sweet summer destination. We were supposed to go but it was out of way already and we didn’t have enough time. I cannot wait to travel the hidden/known treasures of our country.

Indeed, It’s more fun in the Philippines! :)

Gonna be blogging about our family trip to Palawan soon. :) Another fun-filled adventure with the people I sincerely cherish. :)

who wouldn’t want to wake up in a floating house with the bright sunshine, dreamy clouds and the white sand beach around? :)
makes me wanna be a little girl again and think nothing more but today. back then, camping using umbrellas seem like another big world but now, that’s hard to imagine. i wonder how those kids felt while rowing the floating kawayan towards the house. must have felt magical. :)
wish i could go back in time and worry less/ nothing about useless things that bother me and probably a lot of people too. wish i could be as free as a child once more.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
